THE STORYTELLER'S CANDLE

Award winners Lucia Gonzalez and Lulu Delacre celebrate the magic of the public library and the remarkable efforts of New York City's first Latina librarian, Pura Belpre.

Art Director observations: This was a fun project to work on for the purpose of stylizing the book to have the look and feel of the period in which the story takes place. This involved picking a period-specific typeface, and designing patterned endpapers to match.
